East Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency dredges mud of Cipinang River at RW 11 Kramat Jati Urban Village as an anticipation of inundation during rainy season.
Now the progress reaches 90 percent
According to East Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency Implementer Unit Head, Muchlis, his ranks dredges the river along 520 meters starting from taxi pool up to Jagorawi Toll Road crossing.
"Now the progress reaches 90 percent. The dredging will be continued up to next year in stages," he said, Tuesday (12/10).

This causes shallowing which causes the Cipinang River was not be able to accommodate water during the rainy season or if there is flash flooding. This condition creates inundation at surrounding areas especially RW 11 Kramat Jati Urban Village.
"Our personnel dredge 50 cubics per day averagely. Mini excavator and long arm are deployed also," he added.
Local residents admitted their area is not inundate anymore, even though the dredging is still running.
Moreover, artificial lake is also being constructed in Dukuh Urban Village.
"The dredging starts to give positive impact for local residents. There is no more inundation in Kramat Jati area," he admitted.
